Chocolate without processed sugar.

March 28, 2018

Not only is processed sugar inflammatory and addictive, but the body doesn't process it well. When I had adrenal dysfunction if I had any sugar, even a small amount my body went into hyper alert mode and it caused a lot of the same symptoms as anxiety, so I haven't eaten processed sugar for many years now. Luckily I'm not a sweet tooth so it wasn't too much of a big deal for me, but I do like to make desserts sometimes and buy nice chocolate treats every so often.

Here are some really lovely much healthier superfood alternatives for you and your loved ones.

My favourite is The raw chocolate company. I first heard about Linus and his company on Dragons Den. I loved his ethos and the lengths he goes to to find high quality organic ingredients which is ethically sourced and fairtrade. They also share fabulous recipes for making your own products. Another reason to support the raw chocolate company has just been released this week which is this statement “Our goal for 2018 is to switch ALL our packaging over to fully compostable materials. We've already started the process with our bulk 450g bags, and the new range of bars to come in the Summer will have full eco-credentials! We're also pleased to be supplying a number of zero waste outlets where you can purchase our chocolate covered snacks in bulk. Zero waste is the way of the future, and best for the environment and our oceans.”

Below is my stash of raw chocolate goodies from my last order. I do share I promise! 💕

Next on the list is Ailey Mae who is based in Scotland and has the most wonderful selection of scrumptious products.  Ally Mae also offers free shipping on orders over £10 which is rather lovely. Here are my favourites...

Again they have a nice community of people attributing to their website and blog.  Some lovely and unusual vegan recipes too.

P.S I don't have affiliated links to any of these company's or any others that I recommend here on my blog.  I decided not to go down that road, as it doesn't fit in with my ethos. I just like paying it forward when I get wonderful products from lovely people who really care, topped off with really great service which makes my day better too. 🌈🌈🌈
