    Baby nappy balm ingredients

*Shea butter - Shea butter comes from the mangifolia, or karite nut tree which is indigenous to West and Central Africa. Rich in fatty acids, shea butter protects the skin and locks in moisture. It has a buttery texture which easily soaks into the skin. Shea butter is rich in vitamin E and also contains vitamins A, D and F. Shea butter is not only used as a moisturizer but has had great results with insect bites, diaper rash, eczema and psoriasis.

*Mango butter - Mango butter is rich on oleic acid and stearic acid. These fatty acids acts as emollients that soften and soothe the skin and hair. It has a high oxidative ability, wound healing and regenerative activity. It is high in antioxidants and Vitamins A, C and E.

*Coconut oil - is packed full of antioxidants and is used in many of my natural beauty products, and for good reason: It’s naturally antibacterial and antifungal, coconut oil for skin is an excellent moisturizer, it can penetrate better than other oils, and, well, it smells like cookies

Non Nano Zinc oxide - Zinc oxide is a common ingredient in skin care products because it acts as a protective barrier for the skin. It is used to treat chapped skin caused by diaper rash in babies. This safe, powdered mineral composed of non-nano particles sits on top of the skin and does not enter the bloodstream. Also research shows that zinc oxide aids in the production of new skin tissue making it useful in healing wounds and inflammation.

Because zinc oxide is a mild astringent, it keeps harmful bacteria from living in the skin. It does not kill bacteria but instead inhibits the adhesion and internalizes the bacteria. It decreases the permeability of the skin to prevent bacteria from entering the dermis. Zinc oxide products help to reduce swelling, redness, and inflammation caused by bacteria.

Non-nano zinc oxide is sometimes used in post-surgery salves to create a protective layer on the wound. It also regulates enzyme functions needed to repair and build new skin tissues.

*Olive oil - The cold pressed extra virgin olive oil I use is full of antioxidants including the skin enhancing vitamin E.

*Calendula oil - One of the best reasons to apply calendula flower oil to your cuts, scrapes, bruises, and insect bites, you can quickly speed the healing process, partially due to the anti-inflammatory properties of the oil, in addition to the unique antioxidant compounds found in this miraculous plant. By protecting against infections, it keeps minor wounds and scrapes safe, allowing them to rapidly heal. Aside from stimulating healing, calendula oil can significantly boost the appearance of your skin. It can affect blood flow to the skin cells, provide antioxidant protection that reduces the appearance of wrinkles and ages spots, and even the visibility of scars.

*Beeswax - Beeswax is an amazing way to moisturize the skin and is commonly found in skin care products and cosmetics. It can help protect and repair rough, dry or chapped skin because it has the ability to lock in moisture, it’s protective and healing. The wax has rich vitamin A content and emollient properties, which soften and rehydrate the skin as well as aiding in the healthy development of cellular reconstruction. It also has pain relieving abilities.

Aside from all these beautiful nourishing, protecting and healing properties in all the ingredients you can be assured all products are made in a sterile environment, each batch sent to a microbiology lab and they are also assessed and approved by a cosmetic chemist.
