Growing food

The photos above are of course how the pro's do it, from Dundee flower and food show, an extravaganza of gorgeous produce. The slide show below is my kinda imperfect more rustic version. Either way aren't we incredibly fortunate to have so much variety of fresh produce available to us these days, whether we grow it or buy it, we are very, very lucky indeed to have so many choices. 😃


The first time I grew vegetables I was 24 and pregnant with my first son. I remember it like it was yesterday.  I always loved being pregnant ~ one of life's most spectacular, miraculous joys. We had a quarter of an acre of garden, with lots of nooks and crannies, so I set out designing it, even though I had no clue what I was doing, just a dream and a vision. It was on a very steep slope, with lots of concrete so we had to hire a big digger and other big heavy machinery to get rid of all the rubble, and to put down the top soil for the vegetable garden.
